Abstract Konstantin Vojnović je osoba koja je preko četrdeset godina sudjelovala u javnom društveno-političkom i vjerskom životu Dalmacije i Banske Hrvatske. Bio je svestrano obrazovan, visoko moralan i istinski hrvatski rodoljub. Tijekom svoga života bavio se gospodarskim, kulturnim, političkim, znanstvenim, pravnim i vjerskim temama. Cijeli je život ostao vjeran i dosljedan sebi i svojim načelima. Svojim je knjigama, člancima i govorima privlačio pozornost i uvelike je doprinio proučavanju hrvatske nacionalne, kulturne, crkvene i gospodarske povijesti. Po svojim je mislima i danas suvremen. Zastupao je hrvatsku državnu i nacionalnu ideju u političkim pitanjima, a u društvenim i religioznim pitanjima stavove temeljene na učenju Katoličke crkve. Tijekom boravka u Dalmaciji počeo se aktivno baviti politikom. Pripadao je Narodnoj stranci te je uz Pavlinovića i Klaića bio jedna od najistaknutijih osoba stranke. Dok je živio u Splitu, bio je vođa i najutjecajniji splitski narodnjak. Dao je veliki doprinos za osnivanje Narodnog lista i Splitske čitaonice. Bio je vrstan govornik i aktivan sudionik saborskih rasprava. Glavno političko pitanje i pitanje s kojim se bavio skoro cijeli život jest pitanje sjedinjenja Dalmacije s Hrvatskom, a zatim pitanje uvođenja hrvatskog jezika u javni život, u škole, upravu i osobito u sudstvo. Veliku je pažnju pridavao obrazovanju. Pored toga zalagao se za moralno ponašanje u javnom životu, poticao je učenje domovinske povijesti, jačanje javnog mnijenja i podizanje razine kulture te zaštite ustavnih sloboda građana. Otvaranjem sveučilišta u Zagrebu, nastavio je svoju profesionalnu i političku karijeru u Banskoj Hrvatskoj, u Zagrebu u kojem je bio profesor, dekan i prodekan na Pravnom fakultetu, rektor i prorektor sveučilišta te istaknuti djelatnik u vjerskom i političkom životu Hrvatske, zastupnik u hrvatskome saboru, član Hrvatske narodne i kasnije Neodvisne narodne stranke te redoviti član Jugoslavenske akademije znanosti i umjetnosti. Glavno političko pitanje kojim se bavio u Banskoj Hrvatskoj jest cjelovitost Hrvatske, odnosno pripojenje, Dalmacije, Bosne i Hercegovine, Vojne krajine i Rijeke Hrvatskoj te pitanjima vezanim za odnose između Hrvatsko i Ugarske. Prisilnim umirovljenjem završila je njegova 191 profesionalna djelatnost u Zagrebu, nakon čega se vratio u Dubrovnik gdje je svojim istraživanjem i objavljivanjem knjiga dao izniman doprinos poznavanju dubrovačke povijesti.
Abstract (english) Konstantin Vojnović was engaged in public and socio-political as well as religious life of Dalmatia and Banus Croatia (Banska Hrvatska) for more than 40 years. He was well-educated, highly ethical and a real Croatian patriot. During his life, he was occupied with economical, cultural, political, scientific, legal and religious issues. All his life he remained faithful to himself and his own beliefs. His books, articles and speeches drew a lot of attention so as his work which eventually contributed a lot to a study of Croatian national, cultural, ecclesiastical and economic history. His thinking is contemporary even today in the modern times. He represented the Croatian state and national idea in political questions, and in socio and religious questions, he represented the attitudes based on the Catholic church teachings. During his stay in Dalmatia, he started to actively be employed with the politics. He was the member of the National party (Narodna stranka), and together with Pavlinović and Klaić, one of the most eminent people in the party itself. While he was living in Split, he was the leader and the most influential nationalist. He contributed a lot in establishing of National paper (Narodni list) and Split library. He was the exceptional speaker and an active participant of discussions in the Parliament. The main political question and the question that he was occupied with for all his life is the question of united Dalmatia and Croatia, then the question of implementation of national language in the public life: in schools, in administration service and especially in judiciary. He also paid attention to education field. Moreover, he advocated the moral and ethical behaviour in public life, he encouraged the homeland history study, the strengthening of the public opinion and raising the level of culture and the protection of constitutional freedom of all citizens. Establishment of the Zagreb University meant the continuation of his professional and political career in Banus Croatia (Zagreb). He was a professor there, and also a dean and a vice dean at Law University, rector and vice-chancellor and notable worker in religious and political life in Croatia, the member in Parliament, the member of Croatian National party and later Independent National Party, the regular member of Yugoslavian Academy of Science and Art. 193 The main topic he dealt with in Banus Croatia was the unity of Croatia, i.e. the joining of Dalmatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Military Frontier (Vojna krajina) and Rijeka to Croatia and also he dealt with the questions about the bilateral relationship between Croatia and Hungary. His professional activities in Zagreb were ended by his forced retirement. After that, he moved back to Dubrovnik where he gave his contribution to the history of Dubrovnik through his scientific research and book publishing.
